You can create a meaningful New Year's release ritual to help you let go of the old and welcome the new. To start, find a quiet spot, get comfortable, and set the intention of the ritual.
You should light candles or burn incense to create a peaceful atmosphere. While doing so, say a prayer or invocation to help you maintain your focus and clarity.
I like to say, Divine spirit, I call upon you to keep me safe and shine your love and light on me so that I may release what is no longer serving me to make space for what is to come. I ask that you place your hands on my shoulders for comfort and guidance. I open my heart, mind, body, and spirit to your loving presence, and with humble gratitude, I thank you. Amen, a-ho, and so it is.
Then, take some time to reflect on the previous year and all that has happened. Think about the things you want to leave behind in the past year and all the lessons you've learned.
When you're ready, write these things down on a piece of paper. Dump out all the names of people, situations, low vibrational beliefs or thoughts, and toxic ways of thinking on paper. Tell the universe your intentions to release it/them.
Then, take a few moments to focus on what you want to bring into the new year. Consider the goals you want to work toward and the things you want to manifest. When you're finished, write these down as well.
Finally, take a moment to thank yourself for all your hard work in the past year and celebrate your accomplishments. Then, take the paper and burn it in a fire-safe container to symbolize the release of the old and the welcoming of the new.
Release the ashes in the wind, flush them down the toilet, or bury them. Tell the universe you release it all and are making the space to bring in all your heart's desires.
In closing, take a moment to also thank spirit, god, the elements, etc., for their presence and assistance in your ritual.
I like to say, Divine spirit, with great love and appreciation, I thank you for your presence and assistance here today. May my spirit, mind, body, and heart be cleansed of what has been released, and may the adventure of this next year begin anew. Amen, A-ho, and So it is.
May your new year be filled with fun, adventure, comfort, love, and prosperity!
